Established in 1977, the Services Preparatory Institute (SPI) Aurangabad was founded to motivate and prepare young men to join the Defence Services in the Officer Cadre. Under the General Administration Department (Desk-28) of Mantralaya, it is led by a Director of Colonel rank or equivalent.

Yes. GSPI Nashik (Government Services Preparatory Institute, Nashik) is the sister institution for female candidates. The GSPI Nashik Hall Ticket download is available on the same official portal. Both institutions follow the same admission process, eligibility criteria, and examination pattern.
Candidates must bring a color printout of their SPI Admit Card 2026 along with their original Aadhaar Card. Photocopies of any ID are not accepted. Stationery (pencil, eraser, sharpener) for the OMR sheet is recommended. Candidates must report at the center at least 30 minutes before the examination start time.
Medical standards follow UPSC (NDA) notifications: minimum height of 157 cm, minimum weight of 43 kg, chest unexpanded 74 cm with 5 cm expansion.
